Chemical Hearts

“You are never more alive than when you’re a teenager.” And so with this timeless adage begins the heartrending new trailer for Chemical Hearts, the Amazon Original based on the YA novel of the same name by Krystal Sutherland (out 21 August). Two unlikely outsiders are paired up at their school paper as joint Editor-in-Chiefs, and so sparks a connection – both coaxing each other out of their shells and past traumas. Starring the magnetic Lili Reinhart (who is also Executive Producer) and newcomer Austin Abrams. Get the tissues out pronto.

The Making of SAWAYAMA

While we may never get over her debut album SAWAYAMA, the Japanese-British singer is giving us a glimpse into the making of her genre-bending album. The documentary will go behind the scenes of the album as we get to see the meteoric rise of the singer in the past three years and how she copes with the pressures and expectations. While the date for release is yet to be confirmed the trailer features a collection of footage from her tours, studio sessions and day to day life.

The Kissing Booth 3

The first film had us hooked. The second film had us begging for more – and now we finally got our wish. Revealed in a live-stream hosted by executive producer Joey King, the third film has already been shot and is currently in post-production. The film will continue to explore the romantic ups and downs of Elle (Joey King) and boyfriend Noah (Jacob Elordi) in the summer before heading off to college. Elle has been accepted into Harvard and Berkeley but torn between her boyfriend and best friend, which will she choose. Set for more hilarious mishaps and teenage emotions, the romantic comedy is scheduled for release sometime in 2021.

Don’t Look Deeper

While it might feel like we are currently living in a stimulation with everything that is currently happening, this high school student is certain things in her life are not adding up when a series of unexpected events lead her to doubt if she’s actually human. Starring Madeline Madeline superstar Helena Howard and The Avenger’s Don Cheadle, the new psychological thriller is set to take us on a wild ride with shocking twists and turns at every corner. With its first episode airing today on Quibi, buckle in tight as the contemporary tale is filled with teenage angst, shocking revelations and otherworldly secrets.

Words on the Bathroom Walls

Based on Julia Walton’s novel of the same name, comes a candid teenage story of mental health and newfound romance. After getting expelled from his previous school, young avid chef Adam (Charlie Plummer) is diagnosed with schizophrenia. Striking up a new connection with Maya (Taylor Russell), the teenager starts to become hopeful with his diagnosis and begins to open up on the struggles that lie ahead. The heart-warming drama peels back the curtains on living with a mental illness as a young adult while trying to navigate future prosperities and brooding romances. The touching film is set for release on August 21.

Lovecraft Country

HBO Original series? Executive produced by J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele? We’re already involved. The final trailer for the upcoming series has dropped today and we couldn’t be any more excited. Following Atticus Black, (Jonathan Majors) his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and his Uncle Geroge (Courtney B. Vance) Lovecraft Country sees the trio go on a journey across Jim Crow America in search of Atticus’s missing father. The group must overcome racial terrors and terrifying monsters ripped straight from a Lovecraft paperback on this chilling journey. Set to land on HBO August 16 – be warned because the terrifying series is not for the faint-hearted.
