Get into the blissful vibes of New Jersey-helmed artist Kev Kelly’s new single “Everything’s On Fire”. Kelly, whose influences include Frank Ocean, John Legend and Sam Cooke, was something of a musical child prodigy. Learning to play the piano at age four, as he got older the singer took to songwriting and performing, delving into his own life to create music that was not only relatable but also deeply expressive.
Taken from his debut EP Saint KDK V, “Everything’s On Fire” is a hip-swaying summer classic, building on an already immaculate discography that mixes acoustic ballads and dramatic pop tunes. “I wanted to show I’m capable of doing more than just one style in this EP – and there’s variety from one song to the next,” says Kelly of the single.
“Each track presents a setting and a plot as if it was a mini movie, while containing a common thread throughout the EP. A relationship beginning in ‘Neighbors’, it being on the rocks in ‘Oh My My’, it ending in ‘Everything’s On Fire’ and looking back on the relationship with regret, heartache and love in ‘Soon’.”
