Having blessed the cover of our Summer 2020 issue and giving us 10/10 ASMR, Normal People‘s Paul Mescal is returning to our screens in Channel 5’s four-part drama The Deceived. The show follows young student, Ophelia (Emily Reid) who has an affair with her professor Dr Michael Callaghan (Emmett J. Scanlan). But after Michael’s wife Rosin ‘dies; in a house fire, suspicions arise and Ophelia confides in her local builder Sean (Paul Mescal) and together they try to figure out what is really going on.
Set to air in August, the production was written by Derry Girl’s Lisa McGree and Tobias Beer. Lisa shared the trailer earlier this week on Twitter and it looks like we’re are in for a treat.
