The annual BET Awards were held virtually last night for the first time ever, and it might have been the best one yet. With performances from Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe x Halle, Roddy Rich and DaBaby, the 20th annual award show was one for the history books. Our favourite big sister Lizzo picked up the award for Best Female R&B, while rapper Roddy Rich bagged the biggest award of the night for Album Of The Year. Beyoncé received the Humanitarian Award from former First Lady Michelle Obama, and then gave an empowering speech on the Black Lives Matter movement and the importance of voting. Migos, Burna Boy and Insecure actress Issa Rae also picked up awards during the night.
But of course, it wouldn’t be an award show if Twitter didn’t get involved. With hilarious memes and one-liners, Twitter users were providing us entertainment on socials while BET gave us a legendary show.
