There’s no denying the influence of Madison Beer and her ubiquitous hit track “Selfish”. Over 19 million views on her emotional tear-streaked music video, and a staggering 100 million streams to date. The American pop singer did not come to play.

And now, another addictive iteration has been added, just in time for the weekend. Beer has enlisted the talents of British-Norwegian EDM DJ and producer Alan Walker (clock his work with A$AP Rocky, Sia, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX and more) to remix “Selfish”. Bubbling synths ferment the heartfelt track with sun-soaked soundscape – making it the perfect summer playlist addition.

“Selfish” is taken from Beer’s debut album Life Support, which the singer unpacked with our Editor-in-Chief Toni-Blaze in our IG Live. “You can say this is sort of a breakup album,” explains Beer. “But it was really a mental health journey album for me. And I’m really excited for people to hear it because I’m finally able to tell my story the way in the way I want it to be told. And I feel like my story has been told for me a lot and it’s really exciting for me to finally be able to tell it myself and be open.”

On the rain-filled visuals, Beer talked about the concept, adding: “It was about being honest and real and it was a big stepping point for me. [For] the video, I came up with the idea that I just wanted to reference the album and the wonderland theme where she is crying and then she’s like swimming in her tears, that was my idea.”
