Parading into the industry like a breath of fresh air is Congolese afrobeats artist Young Paris, with his new single “Sticks”. Mixing hip-hop with afro-swing beats, Paris uses complex jazz rhythms with modern percussion to create the perfect tune for summer vibs. Having signed to Jay-Z’s famed label Roc Nation in 2016, Young Paris recent album Blood Diamond has put him at the forefront of today’s afrobeats artists with over five million streams.

Speaking on his new release Paris says, “I grew up hanging with older kids and would be around my uncles all the time, one man named “Sticks” was a gangster and loved gambling pool and taught me how to gamble as a teenager. I got so good at it I finally got my own place, till I lost really bad once and didn’t know how I was going to pay my bills and I stopped gambling full time. Till this day, I’m still in love with the game and the words sang in the chorus are some quotes Sticks would say to me when I asked him about women and what they like in a man. I admired him so much.”
