Ozark

Three seasons? Hour-long episodes? Addictive storyline? Someone grab the popcorn cause we are ready to binge-watch the newest season of this hugely popular drama. Ozark tells the story of a seemingly picture-perfect family – the Byrdes – who move from suburban Chicago to the Lake of the Ozarks after a money-laundering scheme goes wrong. Mexican drugs cartels and stellar performances from Jason Bateman and Laura Linney hook you instantly, as they relish in their criminality and crave more money and power. A fan of Breaking Bad? You’ll love this series.

Too Hot To Handle

So you’ve seen the memes all over Twitter and you’re missing Love Island. Enter Too Hot To Handle. Netflix’s latest guilty pleasure takes place on the shores of paradise, challenging a cast of single models and influencers to refrain from any sexual interaction. What’s at stake? $100,000 cash prize for the winner, but every time someone engages in sexual activity money is deducted from the prize fund. With the premise of the show to teach these millennials about how to make genuine relationships and connections with each other, couples on the show are forced to open their minds in order to win the cash prize.

#blackAF

Created by the producer of the critically-acclaimed Black-ish and spin-off series Grown-ish and Mixed-ish comes a brand new American sitcom #blackAF. The series pulls back the curtain on what it means to be a “new money” black family, with producer Kenya Barris fictionalising himself and uncovering the messy and unfiltered world of an American black family. While it might have gathered mixed reviews from critics, the show deliveries hilarious one-liners and provides perfect entertainment while we’re in quarantine.

Outer Banks

Netflix’s new teen drama Outer Banks is where all the drama is at. Following a group of teenagers in the Outer Banks of North Carolina called “Pogues”, the series details the group trying to find the ring leader’s missing father. Going through traps and a series of misfortune, the group delves into more mystery and by episode three you’ll be completely hooked and in love with newcomer Chase Stokes. If you like Riverdale (minus the singing), you’ll love this.

The Lovebirds

When you see Issa Rae in a cast, you know it’s going to be a) addictive and b) hunched-over hilarious. Set to launch on May 22, Issa Rae and The Big Sick lead and comedian Kumail Nanjiani get unwittingly involved in a murder, and to clear their names the Bonnie and Clyde duo embark on a ludicrous journey, resorting to desperate measures to avoid getting arrested. While it was planned for release in March at SXSW (postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus), Netflix picked up the comedy for a digital release and we’re too excited to see the comical duo grace our screens again.
