PREMIERE: ANDRO – “LOST CAUSE”

Warped synths and funk-stacked basslines fill the politically-charged new single from the London-based artist.

Charged with static, from the second the visuals for “Lost Cause” crackle into life, and we see a balaclava-clad individual polishing an emblematic gun necklace, the viewers knows they’re not witnessing just any music video.

Warning-like, police sirens wail throughout. Hoodies. Black Panther salutes. The threat of police brutality imminent. Since he came on the scene, London-based singer-songwriter ANDRO has been making waves with his introspective and thought-provoking sound – and his latest track is no exception, with the artist shining a light on societal institutionalised racism.

And sonically, expect body-shuddering funk, warped synths and menacing basslines – not to mention ANDRO’s distinctive piercing vocals dancing upon the melody.

“‘Lost Cause’ is an elucidation that our collective work isn’t finished” ANDRO explains. “It was written in a moment of my own despondency to current events and a comment on the historical beliefs of the Lost Cause of the Confederacy, which has fed Police Brutality and White Supremacy to this day, in-spite of this I want the listener to find a new sense of fight and hope.”
