Prada has announced that it has started the production of 80,000 medical overalls and 110,000 face masks – in a major push in the fight against coronavirus.

To ease shortages at this crucial time, the equipment from the Italian luxury brand will be allocated to healthcare personnel following an urgent request from the Tuscany region.

The overalls and masks are being produced at the Prada factory in Montone (a commune in the Province of Perugia) which has stayed open for this sole purpose, also thanks to a network of external Italian suppliers.

Daily deliveries are to alleviate dwindling supplies, with the full contribution to be delivered by 6 April.
