The iconic Italian sports brand and 70s cult rave label have tapped Maisie Williams and boyfriend Reuben Selby to creative direct their new campaign.

She grew up on our screens as Arya Stark, decimating supernatural enemies in the biggest television phenomenon of our times; and he’s made a name for himself as entrepreneurial provocateur and founder of modelling agency Contact. Now the creative powers of Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams and her boyfriend Reuben Selby have been harnessed for the exclusive campaign between iconic Italian sports brand ellesse and 70s cult rave label Smiley.

The pair celebrate the collection’s themes of “individuality and friendship” as well as delving into the heritage each brand has within sub-cultures and the history of music and nightlife scenes – both working closely with creative agency Cortex and Selby’s Contact to showcase the footwear and apparel pieces in a series of boundary-pushing imagery and video.

The track tailoring of ellesse and the vibrant neon shades of Smiley have been united, with diverse models showcasing the collection in the home, record store and park – the spirit of youth culture coursing through.

Comprised of 21 apparel pieces for women and a smaller capsule collection for men, think transparent ponchos, iridescent shell suits, bucket hats, a range of vibrant co-ords, plus key sneaker and sliders styles make up the footwear offering to the collaborative collection.

The creative campaign will launch alongside the ellesse X Smiley collection on the 18th March 2020. ellesse.com
