Move over Adam Sandler, has just purchased the world’s second largest uncut gem – and jaws are firmly embedded into the ground at the fist-sized magnitude of the diamond.
Discovered in Botswana last year, the Sewelô, which means “rare find” in Setswana, is a 1,758 carat blackened and glinting behemoth of a jewel, covered in carbon, and approximately the size of a tennis ball.
Louis Vuitton announced its acquisition of the diamond in Paris last week, displaying the find in its Place Vendôme store.
The rock will be cut into smaller gems and turned into a collection of fine jewellery.
