His upcoming projects include the much-hyped follow-up to Call Me By Your Name, the next Wes Anderson film The French Dispatch, and the highly-anticipated reboot of sci-fi epic Dune. But there’s no rest for Timothée Chalamet as rumours surrounding another project are already the subject of much hysteria.
According to US entertainment site Deadline, the Little Women actor is in talks to play Bob Dylan in a new film about the musician, with the working title Going Electric. Chalamet will star as a young Dylan during his most defining period in the mid-60s, when he made the controversial transition from folk to electric guitar. The actor is supposedly learning guitar “so he can familiarise himself with the acoustic and electric guitar”.
The film will be spearheaded by director James Mangold, known for moving 2005 Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, starring Joaquin Phoenix.
