There are some tracks that stop you right in your tracks, and the latest hazy masterpiece from New York duo mmeadows is on the money.
It’s the result of the meeting of two minds: Dirty Projectors member Kristin Slipp and music industry veteran Cole Kamen-Green, who has worked with none other than Queen Beyoncé on two albums: Beyoncé and Four.
Experimental synth notes spring the haunting new track “This Way” into life, with the piercing soprano vocals of Slipp dancing upon the textured production.
And the visuals carry a deliciously homegrown DIY feel, with the pair playing barefoot in a living room with a handful of friends and family as audience members.
