To celebrate its 170th anniversary, French liquor brand Cointreau are releasing a limited edition range of bottles designed by world-famous designer Vincent Darré.

Having worked for the likes of Prada, Fendi, Moschino, and many more, Darré has now turned his extravagant and eccentric eye to redesigning the classic Cointreau bottle, and the result is something else.

Focusing on Surrealism and drawing inspiration from history in his art, Darré’s reproductions are always different and always impactful. Reinterpreting the traditional bottle, Darre has embossed three scenes, painted in his traditionally quirky style, onto the sides of the bottles to honour the history of Cointreau.

Telling the story of founders Louisa and Edouard Cointreau, these paintings succinctly relate the history of the brand in its traditional orange and blue colours, and the overall design successfully pays tribute to the bold and ingenious spirit of its founders.
