With the stress of finding a costume for Halloween and the labour of standing in a muddy field for Bonfire Night well and truly behind us, that can only mean two things: plenty of tone-deaf “Valentine’s Day is just around the corner” emails, and, more importantly, Love Actually regularly hitting prime time television. That’s right, it’s Winter Wonderland season, Christmas is finally the next holiday around the corner. It’s time for scarves, stockings and snowmen.

For anyone hitting up the big city for this decades last big blow out (before New Year’s Eve of course), why not make it a special one? Maybe you’re Home Alone 2-ing it and have been chased around the city by two vengeful robbers; have no fear, there is a cosy room at The Kensington Hotel just waiting for you. It doesn’t get anymore lush than this lavish town house conversion, full of stylish furnishings, intimate porticos and a stunning view of the borough’s classic tree-lined avenues.

This December South Kensington’s fanciest establishment is offering guests the full Christmas-themed package, aptly titled ‘A Kensington Tale’, and before you ask, it is as luxurious as it sounds. The package includes a four night stay with complimentary turn-down service on Christmas Eve, a bottle of Champagne on arrival and two tickets for Christmas Eve carols at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. That’s not everything though, upon return you will be treated to a traditional Christmas lunch in front of the house’s toasty fireplace, where you can sip on one (or twenty) glasses of delicious Perrier Jouët. You can almost taste how good those roasties will be, and imagine the gravy! We’ve booked our room already…
