For years now Cub Sport have consistently had us in our feelings with their euphoric brand of synth-pop, and no word of a lie, their latest offering is equal parts beautiful and devastating.
But don’t get it twisted: think happy tears. “I’ve Never Cried So Much In My Whole Life” is a blissful meditation on being so engulfed in feelings of love that you’re overcome.
Tender guitar-plucking gives way to frontman Tim’s angelic vocals, before hazy synths bolster the track.
And the music video sees the Brisbane foursome (in bedazzled chokers and flared suits no less) growing an abundant garden with their tears of happiness.
“We wanted this video to be ethereal, light, gentle and a bit trippy to convey the feelings and experiences that inspired the song; reflection, joy and being deeply present in a moment of pure unconditional love,” explains frontman Tim. “There’s a metaphor playing out through the video, where happy tears and gratitude are watering and nourishing this big pile of dirt and from it grows a beautiful, thriving garden.”
