A hint of Fleetwood Mac. A dash of HAIM. Subtle influences of Rosalía. The music of Danish-Chilean artist Molina is like nothing you’ve ever heard, and “Parásito” is the latest sublime track from the experimental newcomer.

Marking the artist’s first track sung in Spanish, “Parásito” blends dark synth-pop with brooding psychedelia, characterised by a complex production of layered vocals, strings, flute, and bass. Ethereal but assured vocals dance on the infectious melody, telling a story of the double-sided nature of symbiotic love.

“You can feel so close to another human being that you sometimes forget yourself,” explains Molina. “By writing and singing in Spanish I returned to a part of my Chilean roots.”
