WONDERLIST

Dijon, Jordan Stephens, Charlotte Lawrence and more on this week’s music playlist.

Jordan Stephens – “Found In Space”

You might recognise the name previously from one half of energetic jazz-inspired duo Rizzle Kicks, or the cameo credits of Star Wars: Rogue One, but Jordan Stephens has been making solo waves in the music industry since his debut single last year. The singer is now back with heart-felt slow burner “Found In Space.” Prepare to listen and weep.

Charlotte Lawrence – “Navy Blue”

“I’m a singer, baby!” And so opens the mesmerising new pool-set visuals from the LA-based singer. Lawrence’s breathy vocals trickle through the searing track which pleads with a lover, before the propulsive percussion kicks in. Play and replay.

Friday Night Plans – “All The Dots”

Cinematic doesn’t even cut it. The brand new visuals from FNP are a feat of beautiful, sweeping close-up shots and the heart-rendering portrayal of economic struggle. Fronted by 23-year-old female vocalist Masumi, her angelic soprano vocals layer over the complex composition of the track.

Dijon – “Good Luck”

Don’t mind us, as we crawl under our desks and curl up into the foetal position. Such is the soul-crushing tenderness of Dijon Duenas’ new track. The Los Angeles-based, Baltimore-raised artist meditates on how it can hurt to dwell on the past, as the gentle piano-led melody winds inevitably to a hair-raising choir-bolstered crescendo. Broken.
