Since Dutch/Norwegian musician Koen van de Wardt founded Klangstof and they made their name with the debut album Close Eyes to Exit, the trio have been making waves with their synth-pop infused electronic sound, becoming the first Dutch band to perform at both Coachella and Bonnaroo and touring with The Flaming Lips. Now experimenting with a variety of genres, their upcoming album, The Noise You Make Is Silent, sees Klangstof making use of grid effect pedals, drum machines and a multitude of different sounds. Their new track “Attack Attack” offers another brooding, experimental track with personal undertones.

“I first wrote the line ‘I’m a rock, I’m a mountain/The heavy weight on your shoulders’”, Koen van de Wardst explains of the new track. “Kind of like a response to everything that was going on at that time. I felt like I was annoying everyone with whatever I was doing and couldn’t get out of that vibe for almost a year. So this is almost like an apology letter to the people that were around me at the time”.
