In these uncertain times of political confusion and climate anxiety, some escapism is a welcome respite. Richard Quinn knows this, and so he brought his lavish, maximalist fashion dream-world to the runway with his SS20 collection.
‘80s-style shoulder puffs, a whole lot of florals, oversized bows, vintage wedding-chic veils and jewel-encrusted everything. With the Philharmonia Orchestra providing the ethereal backdrop to Quinn’s collection, the extravagant clothes offer up a dreamy vision inspired by the idea that bigger is better. “If it’s a big shape, it’s really large, if it’s short, it’s tiny”, explains the designer. “In days like this, I think fashion should be something everyone enjoys – whether you’re working in it or wearing it”.
We’re also living for the high-glam vibes, fluffy headpieces and basically everything about this collection.
