After introducing his debut song “Comfortable” earlier this year, Roken continues to bring his unique sound inspired by everything from ‘80s post punk to ‘90s smooth R&B.
Hailing from a creative family – his grandfather owned the iconic Chelsea Records label in the ‘60s and his father helmed multiple rock groups from the ‘80s and ‘90s – Roken’s musical disposition was inevitable. In his latest track, the New York native blends poppy synths with punk-inspired guitars as he sings about heartache in his soft, smooth vocals.
“It’s a song about being lost”, Roken explains. “You’ve done something wrong but you’re trying to figure out what. An emotional relationship where the pushing and holding between the two people makes it difficult when space is needed”.
