Just like the start of every nightmare you’ve ever had, at the start of the visuals for “Human Contact,” in a disused mansion, mannequins twitch alive, and among them included York-based four-piece The Howl & The Hum.
The indie band explore themes of loneliness, alienation and connection in the digital age, and just like the video, the haunting track is fuelled by a slow-burning, propulsive beat which builds to a fiery crescendo.
“With the song ‘Human Contact’ we wanted to explore the separation between people in a digital age; the video takes this idea in a different direction, with a focus on flesh, movement and the darker thoughts that accompany loneliness,” explains the band.
