We didn’t want to start the weekend crying, but here we are, deep in our feelings, so thanks a lot Miley.
The singer has dropped the emotional music video for “Slide Away”, which addresses her recent break-up with longterm love Liam Hemsworth.
The song references drug abuse (although it’s unknown whether she is referring to herself or Liam): “I want my house in the hills / Don’t want the whiskey and pills”. The accompanying song artwork also shows an empty alcohol bottle and prescription pills floating in water.
Referring to their longstanding 10 year relationship, she sings: “Once upon a time it was paradise” and “Woke up one day it had turned to dust / Baby we were found but now we’re lost / So it’s time to let it go”.
