Here we were, minding our own business. And just like that, A24 have dropped on our unsuspecting selves a trailer akin to an emotional ton of bricks.

Waves is the buzzy film distributors latest offering, helmed by director Trey Edward Shults, known for his 2017 eerie horror It Comes At Night.

No scares this time though, unless you’ve got a deep-seated fear of ugly-crying loudly in a cinema. This time around were being dealt a teary knockout following the journey of a suburban African-American family – and with a truly all-star cast. Led by Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Waves also stars A24’s boyfriend Lucas Hedges, Taylor Russell, and of course, our Autumn 2019 cover queen and Euphoria actor Alexa Demie.
