The self-claimed “best boy band since One Direction” have returned with their new album GINGER, a welcome return to the up-tempo craziness of the acclaimed SATURATION trilogy (with a bit of melancholic remedying thrown in for good measure).

Adding to the band’s impressive discography that boasts five albums in just three years, GINGER’s release has been teased by BROCKHAMPTON’s members on Instagram all summer, including front man Kevin Abstract. It follows last year’s iredescence, which marked a change from their previous, moshpit-appropriate albums. GINGER’s initial singles, which have dropped every week since the beginning of August, see the innovative boy band hyping up their devoted audience with immediate anthems, and the album brings more of the same energy.

GINGER is just one of the rap collective’s highlights from the past two weeks, as they prepare for a free L.A. show tomorrow, fresh off the back of their Japan shows and a takeover of Apple Music’s Beats 1 for their own show. Featuring singles IF YOU PRAY RIGHT, I BEEN BORN AGAIN and BOY BYE, the new album also includes the haunting NO HALO, with brooding verses from Joba, Dom McClennon, Matt Champion and Merlyn Wood, including Los Angeles singer Deb Never.
