Two Emmy-nominated, Bafta-winning and critically adored TV shows. A one-woman stage performance that sparked a cultural obsession. A recently announced book of Fleabag scripts. Casually being only the second woman to have writing credits on a Bond film. There’s literally nothing that Phoebe Waller-Bridge can’t do.

Adding yet another project to her impressive oeuvre, the Killing Eve and Fleabag writer, actress and queen of witty dialogue has confirmed that she’s currently working on her first feature film, which she also intends to direct. It’s not clear whether the film will stick to the same themes as her two hit shows, but she has stated that her debut would ideally be released in cinemas, rather than through a streaming service (so prepare to empty your bank account on tickets for multiple viewings).

“The day I wrapped Fleabag, I went to bed thinking, ‘I’m never going to have another idea again. Oh shit’”, Waller-Bridge told The Hollywood Reporter. “I woke up with this vision of the film”. She also laughed that she “blatantly will end up in it” – suggesting we’ll be blessed with the inimitable presence of the Fleabag actress (plus side-eye and fourth wall break, if we’re lucky).
