It’s been quite the year for Beanie Feldstein. After leaving us in fits of laughter with her portrayal as sassy, stubborn Molly in Booksmart earlier this year, it was announced that she would play the starring role in Caitlin Moran’s feminist coming-of-age comedy How to Build a Girl, alongside an all-star cast featuring Emma Thompson and Alfie Allen.

Now, her most recently confirmed project will now see her taking on the controversial role as the White House intern at the centre of one of the biggest political scandals: Monica Lewinsky.

The focus of the latest season of American Crime Story, which will be titled Impeachment, follows the success of the first two series of Ryan Murphy’s hit series (also Scream Queens and Pose), which has previously looked at cultural poignant events such as the OJ Simpson trial and the assassination of Gianni Versace.

With Lewinksy herself producing, the series will focus on the infamous affair between the young intern and the then-President, Bill Clinton – events which led to his impeachment. In the current era of #MeToo and calls for Trump to be impeached, the series comes at a particularly pertinent time.

While there’s no news on the casting of Bill and Hillary, American Horror Story queen Sarah Paulson will play Linda Tripp, who secretly recorded calls made by Lewinsky about the scandalous affair.
