Echoing an icon, CHANEL 19 was dropped this year, mirroring the creation of the 2.55 bag in February 1955.
Making its debut on the AW19 runway, Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard’s creation, the CHANEL 19 bag, was named in honour of the House’s most beloved bag, the eternal 2.55. The rectangular flap bag available in three sizes is synonymous with easy chic, exemplified here by certified Chanel girl, Ella Purnell, and fastens with the signature double C (what else?)
Taking on the colours of AW19 collection, the CHANEL 19 comes in black, beige and white leather, as well as statement shades of turquoise, green, deep red and dark pink. Tweed on the other hand — it wouldn’t be Chanel without a little tweed — takes eight different forms.
With adjustable chain link handles for when you’re feeling #exec, and a belt-bag option for when you’re feeling free and only want to carry your card and keys, it’s a truly universal model. Or at least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves while saving up for two. Excessive? Worth it.
