Summer has finally reached England, with festival and Aperol Spritz season well underway for most of the country. However, it’s easy to forget how, for other countries, the perennial heat and glaring light of a July day in the UK is the norm, the sun a part of quotidian life and not a rare treat to be enjoyed for 30-40 days a year.
This is the tangible atmosphere that pervades this editorial by photographer Terrence Blakely. The image speak to the lounging longevity of a summer’s day, the seemingly endless hours lapping into each other until time becomes futile and all there is to think about is the beating sun, engulfing both beach and countryside in its warm blanket.
