The mesmerising twinkling of piano keys builds to a crescendo and in comes the caramel smooth vocals of Los Leo (aka Tom Montesi). And so opens “The End”, the brand new sun-soaked track from the Adelaide-hailed indie-pop artist.

Montesi has never been afraid of shying away when it comes to his music. After all, honesty is the best policy right? His struggles with mental health have been a cornerstone of previous tracks, but don’t be mistaken: it’s not about wallowing. Heartfelt lyrics and emotional delivery are balanced with a soaring chorus and playful production – and this is a addictive track to have on repeat this summer.

“It’s still a very touchy subject for me but I’ve been through some health issues in recent years and… actually, I’m still going through them” explains Tom. “Sonically there’s a lot of contrast, we worked really hard to balance light and shade to bring different feelings to the lyrics”.
