BOOTLEG RASCAL – “YIN & YANG”

The Australian outfit release their new double-sided record.

Coming straight out of Australia, eclectic party outfit Bootleg Rascal have released their new, double A-side release “Yin & Yang”, featuring the tracks “Get Over Myself” and “Tryin’ To Run”. The songs are produced by the band themselves, alongside long-time collaborator Ian Pritchett, with additional production by Simon Dobson (Little May).

“Get Over Myself” is imbued with the outfit’s urban sonics, taking inspiration from the likes of Outkast, Jay-Z and The Weeknd. Lara describes the motivation behind the track: “We really wanted to do something different, explore incorporating different aspects of music that we really love listening to, like Hip-Hop and Soul. It’s also just a hell fun song”.

“Tryin’ To Run”, on the other hand, couldn’t be more different. The song is perfect for the summer, a sumptuous sonic ray of sound layered with addictive feel-good riffs, irresistable hooks and melodies so funky all you’ll want to do is get up and dance. “We just wanted to create a bit of a Cake-esque jam; something you can have some fun with” says guitarist Jimmy Young. “I think this is a pretty classic style Bootleg jam. Some groove driven dirty riffs with a gang bang, sing-a-long ending”.
