WONDERLIST

The soundtrack to your week is here.

Hopium – “I Forget My Name” feat. Jafaris.

A sizzling new one from London-based Australia-born musician Hopium, “I Forget My Name” is all about exploring our interactions with social media. Soundtracked by a banging R&B beat, obv. “Instagram must be the best thing that ever happened for brands,” he explains. “They barely need to sell to us anymore – we sell to each other. We’re so desperate to be part of something we cover ourselves in logos and names. We spend money we don’t have to project the idea of a perfect life out to even more people, continuing the illusion that just wearing something could bring anything more than a fleeting happiness.”

Lucy Lu – “Adonis”

With a voice so smooth you’re gonna swoon, Lucy Lu’s latest is a gorge jazzy pop number that’ll be perfect for listening to while lounging in the sun this bank hol. Called “Adonis”, the track follows on from the release of his beaut debut EP Vol. 1 last year. Get your air-saxophones at the ready, because it’s a bop.

Clairo – “Bags”

With a new song and the announcement of her debut album Immunity, Clairo is blessing us this week. Releasing lead single “Bags”, it shows her classic bedroom-pop style and delicate vocals, and once again shows the promising horizon for the rising Boston-based artist. We have to Stan.

Badgirl$ – “Click”

Genre-blending babes Badgirl$ have just dropped their new one “Click” and, tbh, we’re not sure we’re ever gonna listen to anything else. Fusing indie and trap, it’s a raw and exciting track from the London-based trio who are destined to blow up in 2019.

Johan – “smile like an idiot”

Obviously, we’ve got to include a track you can have a boogie to. Introducing LA-based songwriter Johan’s newbie “smile like an idiot”. All about the times where you act like you don’t give a shit but really you do, it’s a chilled R&B number that’ll get you bopping along in no time.
