It’s common knowledge that the opening bars of any Mac DeMarco song automatically relaxes the shoulders, softens the focus, relieves stress and clears the skin.

OK… maybe not quite. But such is the therapeutically hazy quality of DeMarco’s slacker-rock sound, which combines retro-style synth chords and his chilled-out croon.

Calling all fans of the Canadian singer-songwriter – you’re now in luck – as the artist has now co-curated a one-day event in Dreamland, Margate, alongside London promoters BIRD ON A WIRE.

On 29 June, the event, titled “Mac DeMarco…Will See You Now” features a line-up of exciting, emerging artists.
