Following the tragic loss of Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, known as the band Her’s, their friends and family have set up a memorial event that will take place on Sunday 16th June. “Friend’s of Her’s” will see DJ sets from The Orielles, Happyness, Brad Stank and Pizzagirl at The Bombed Out Church in Liverpool, alongside an exhibition from the official band photographers, a presentation of the band’s artwork, and exclusive video screenings.
“Whilst we continue to feel devastated by the loss of our friends, it was very clear from the outpouring of love for them that there should be an event to celebrate their lives and the amazing music they brought to the world”, say Her’s label, Heist or Hit. “Stephen and Audun were always very humble and particularly loved house parties with friends. We hope that, in addition to the official event on 16th June, fans of Her’s throughout the world will gain some comfort by holding house parties of their own on the same day.”
All proceeds from the event will be going towards the organisation of workshops and projects in support of the local homeless community, and donations can be made here. A fund has also been created for the family of their tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson, which you can pledge to here.
Tickets for “Friend’s of Her’s” will go on sale here tomorrow at 9am. And if you can’t make the event, fans are urged to throw their own “Friend’s of Her’s” events on the same night and share their events with the hashtag #friendsofhers.
A posthumous video of their track “She Needs Him” has also been released today, created by French illustrator and motion designer Sébastien Séjourné.
