As the frenzied analysis of Sunday’s penultimate episode of Game of Thrones slowly fizzles out, the reality that there’s only one episode left (EVER) has dawned on us, and we weren’t prepared for the feels.

HBO must have sensed our heartache because they’ve just dropped the trailer for a documentary following the filming of season eight, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, and it looks like it’ll provide insight into the extensive production and creative team behind the show, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of its cast members on set.

The trailer opens with the final table read with Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow, aka our very own King of the North, crying, and ends with Emilia Clarke walking off set to applause after filming her final scene as Daenerys Targaryen – but we’ll leave you to frantically unpick the significance of that.

The Last Watch drops on Sunday 26 May on HBO.
