Drake became the most celebrated artist in billboard award history yesterday, scooping up a staggering 12 (yes, 12) awards to take his total to 27, four higher than his closest rivals Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. Though the Canadian rapper’s numerical dominance was the talk of the evening, it was something he said in his speech which sent Twitter into meltdown, namely his parting shoutout “to Arya Stark for putting in that work last week”. This was of course in reference to Maisie Williams’ character’s epic final blow to the Night King in Game of Thrones‘ third episode, “The Long Night”, which has since been hailed as one of the best moments in television history.
