BASELWORLD 2019

Bvlgari broke records once again at this year’s Swiss watch and jewellery calendar highlight.

There aren’t many certainties, but one thing is for sure: the Swiss know their time-pieces. And every year, keen jewellery and watch enthusiasts wait with barely-masked anticipation for the annual calendar highlight: Baselworld.

The esteemed trade show is organised each spring in the city of Basel in Switzerland, and this year, for the fifth time, Bvlgari broke world records with their new launches.

The Italian luxury brand broke a record with their new Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic, now the thinnest ever existing Chronograph movement with a record-setting 3.3mm thinness.

For women, Bvlgari launched Serpenti Seduttori – a reimagination of the current cult Serpenti watch, this time cast in gold. And also debuting at Baselworld was the unique, new piece Octo Grande Sonnerie with Perpetual Calendar. Dreamy stuff.

“Our capability of fusing edgy, magnificent Italian design with the ultimate Swiss engineering and craftsmanship — this is why I talk about Rinascimento from Bvlgari. It is truly a revolution of design and technology,” explained Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari.
