Long has London Fashion Week been a platform for opening our eyes to a diverse spread of exciting brands. And for AW19, all eyes were on Chinese label RESHAKE – revolutionising the streetwear space with a fresh and vibrant twist.

“Keep it real” is the ethos of the brand, made evident by its eclectic influences and its direct reflection of the ever-vibrant and experimental Chinese fashion market.

Tie-dye elements in marshmallow shades, Chinese embroidery, PVC boilersuits in submarine yellows and oversized puffers ruled the catwalks. And for that fun-factor: tongue-in-cheek and oh-so-Instagrammable elements like XXL slogan scarves with huge patent transparent pockets.

This season, the collection was inspired by Buddhist passages, with slogans pertaining to this sentiment with “Nirvana” “Made In China” and “Famous In The Early Days.” Elsewhere, the brand invited legendary Shanghai culinary maestro Xiao Yang Sheng Jian to collaborate, pulling inspiration from his colourful first street food store.
