Since the launch of his brand in 2008, JW Anderson has been a steadfast favourite at London Fashion Week, and his AW19 collection was as innovate and distinctive as ever.
Knitwear and structured coats were oversized but belted at the waist, creating powerful and interesting silhouettes. It seemed like fabrics and cuts were chosen with movement in mind: fabrics were heavily layered, capes billowed as models walked and more delicate evening dresses were draped with silky, ruched materials. Gingham and check prints adorned the finishes and inner linings of outerwear and capes, whilst zebra prints decorated on-trend knee-high sock boots.
With a palette ranging from pale pastel yellows and neutral marls to clashing royal blues and reds, JW Anderson’s AW19 formed a completely varied and wearable wardrobe, whilst still feeling completely succinct.
Models’ hair looks were feminine and modern, slicked down with high-shine gels to highlight dewy, minimalist makeup and oversized, brassy gold necklaces that finished a range of exquisite looks.
