PHOTO DIARY: FUR

A Valentine’s Day visual trip round their beloved city.

You’ve probably heard enough declarations of love today, but here’s one with a slight twist. Brighton newcomers FUR have concocted a visual love letter to their beloved hometown.

When not making bangers that sound like “if a 60s band were doing something modern” – all of which you can hear on their self-titled debut EP out today! – find them at these various beachside locations that have found a special place in their hearts…

Addison Road

The road our house was on in our second year at uni. which The house itself was an ex-nursing home turned into student housing. We threw some huge parties and shows in that place and at one point we had 11 people living there… which resulted in it being both the best and worst year of our time in Brighton!

Easy Hours 24hr

Provided the fuel for some of our wildest and most desperate times at 5am when nowhere else is open. Also holds the Jalapeno Pretzel Bites: one of the greatest snacks of all time.

The White Rabbit

Our favourite place to drink and always the first stop when showing people around Brighton for the first time. It’s the middle of the North Laines and always feels so full of energy.

Sticky Mikes Frog Bar

Our beloved venue where we played some of our first and most memorable shows and saw some amazing gigs. It was our go-to late night spot when there was nothing else on. Despite being a last port of call we loved it very much, and are all very sad that it closed down at the end of 2018. RIP.

The bit on the beach just down from the “i360 Tower”

Just always ends up being where we meet and hang out on the beach. We’ve had some golden moments from Flynn’s brother getting a rock launched at his head point blank to going swimming fully clothed after England won the quarter finals against Sweden… and just so many long summer days having barbecues.
