Following the recent releases of acclaimed singles “Bag” and “Amazing”, Maryland’s Innanet James is back with a new visual offering, from his current project: “Keep it Clean”, featuring Taliwhoah.

In keeping with the low-key, laid back vibe that has permeated James’ music thus far, “Memories” is laid over a bass-heavy, jazzy instrumental, allows his fizzy, peppery flow to flourish, interweaving through the melody with his London-based featured artist to great affect. Still only in his early twenties, James’ stock has risen quickly over the last few years, and the video for “Memories”, directed by Danny Chamberlain, sees the young rapper reflect on nostalgaic times and his journey to prominence. The high tempo energy added to such lyricism results in a bona fide summer jam and club banger in equal measure.

Speaking on the track, James states: “The inspiration for the song was nostalgia. It’s got a real groove/dance vibe to it but it’s also about where I’m from and the things you experience growing up in Maryland. The video inspiration plays into that as well, I wanted to keep that nostalgic feel.” Listen below.
