Loyle Carner in conversation with up-and-coming rap talent Barney Artist. Illustrator and animator Joey Yu chatting to emerging artist noiamreiss.
And now, as part of the Tate Collective’s new film project, Artist Meets, which unites artists and emerging talent in conversation, we have BBZ and their one-to-watch Abondance Matanda.
Including members Naeem Davis, Tia Simon Campbell and Yewande Odunubi, BBZ (pronounced “babes,” FYI) is the south east London club collective throwing London parties for queer people of colour. Abondance Matanda is the writer, photographer, poet and self-proclaimed renaissance woman who explores themes of identity, race and politics in her razor sharp storytelling.
Accompanied by a series of portraits by “Boys” photographer Rosie Matheson, Artist Meets looks to explore the future of art and the way institutions find and platform talent.
Stay tuned for the next video in the series. Find out more at Tate Collective.
