The Metropolitan Museum of Art: home to thousands of the world’s finest artworks, Gossip Girl’s infamous “the Met steps”, and Karl Lagerfeld’s chosen NYC venue for Chanel’s 2018 Metier d’Art show last night.

Lighting up the runway alongside models including Kaia Gerber was – unexpectedly but totally brilliantly – Pharrell, dressed in head-to-toe glistening gold.

Various shades of the colour dominated the whole collection, from skin-tight metallic leggings and knee-high croc boots to chandelier earrings and sparkling suit pieces.

Pharrell’s runway feature represents an ongoing close relationship with Chanel: the producer became the first man to model a one of their handbags in an ad a couple of years ago, partnered with the brand for an Adidas shoe collab last year, and has designed a capsule collection set to drop in March next year.
