Many Leonard Cohen fans will be aware that the late legendary icon penned a final letter to his muse Marianne just before her death. And while his farewell words touched many, some were impacted more than others, even drawing inspiration from the pair’s intimate connection.

In their latest release, “Hydra,” London-based alt-pop band Belle Mt. and long-term collaborator Jessica Sharman have penned a soaring tribute to the pair with a heartfelt song about longing and love.

“We wrote Hydra together in the space of a few hours,” explains the band. “It was almost 18 months before I got the band into the studio in Nashville to track it with our producer ’Femke’, she crafted this captivating and epic orchestral arrangement and production around what we’d put down. I’m not ashamed to say that we’re all so very proud of this track and hope that it serves as a tribute and another signpost towards Cohens stunning body of work.”
