NEW ROAD HOTEL REVIEW

Located in the heart of the capital’s social hub, the New Road Hotel is a welcome addition to East London’s hotel scene.

Sat on the doorstep of Shoreditch and merging high-class luxury with a typical London practicality, the New Road Hotel is the East London gem you didn’t know you needed, but really do. There is an industrial atmosphere in keeping with the old textile factory site on which the hotel is built, with red brick walls surrounding the hotel’s communal areas where guests are encouraged to connect and socialise. The trendy, candlelit bar is a seamless extension of the surrounding east-end social hubbub, with the array of metal round tables and immensely stocked bar providing the perfect before or after for both guests and passers by looking to delve into the surrounding city.

The rooms are sleekly minimalistic, equipped with Fine Bedding Company sheets which will give you one of the best night’s sleep you can ask for, and the exclusive loft rooms boast indulgent hot tubs incomparably overlooking the cityscape, allowing you to take in this incredible location from a position of ultimate tranquillity. Food is an important part of life, and the New Road does not disappoint on this front either, with Marco Pierre-White’s in-house restaurant Mr. White’s English Chophouse providing some of the finest modern British food around. Look out for Marco’s Lobster Macaroni, or the exceptional Roast Saddle of Lamb, for a real treat.

It’s not easy to make a mark on London’s hotel scene, but the Malik brothers’ latest offering has succeeded in doing just that. Whether you’re visiting London, or have lived here for years, the New Road Hotel is definitely worth a visit.
