If Saya wasn’t already the name on everyone’s lips, then that’s about to drastically change. Toronto’s very own fuses R&B, electro-pop and reggaeton to cook up contagious, sensually sultry beats.

A manifold of standalone tracks since Saya’s debut have led to her “Sugarcoated” EP; a seven-song body of work projecting the seven “stages of grief”.

New single, “The Moon” comes accompanied with throwback visuals directed by Zhamak Fulland, a glimmering, retro take on a handful of Saya’s fave movies. Inspiration from the likes of Bewitched, Ziegfeld Girl and Rabbit Moon are sprinkled throughout – all shaped around the fascination of vintage glamour.

“I have such a broad sense of style and I wanted to showcase that in this video with the juxtaposition between street-style, vintage glamour and a cheesy space girl costume,” explains Saya on the making of the video.

“The Moon”, taken from Saya’s ‘Sugarcoated’ EP, is available everywhere today.
