PLAYLIST: PALE WAVES

Your fave goths chat Reading and Leeds must-sees.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that Manchester-based goth-pop babes Pale Waves are gonna absolutely smash their set at Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend. I’m just stating facts here.

But unfortunately they can’t be playing the whole time, so whilst you wait to scream along to every lyric of “Television Romance” and have a dance/cry (mostly cry tbh) at “My Obsession” during their slot on the Festival Republic Stage, we got them to give us a cheeky list of the other acts you should be checking out…

Brockhampton – “STAR”

One of our favourite Brockhampton songs that we often play in the dressing room to get us ready before a show.

IAMDDB – “Ooo”

A hard hitting track from one of Manchester’s most exciting new artists.

Maggie Rogers – “Fallingwater”

A really nice song that progresses well and also has a great video to compliment it.

Let’s Eat Grandma – “It’s Not Just Me”

With unique vocals and cinematic sounds this song could easily be from a movie soundtrack.

Sam Fender – “Dead Boys”

We first heard Sam at a festival we played together earlier this summer and this song instantly caught our ear.

J Hus – “Common Sense”

We love the way that J Hus has used real instrumentation to bring groove to this track, setting it apart from other UK Rap songs.

Tom Grennan – “Found What I’ve Been Looking For”

Tom’s gritty vocals and intricate guitars make for a massive festival tune.

Sigrid – “Strangers”

A perfect party anthem with a Robyn-esque dance chorus.
