PREMIERE: NILE RODGERS & CHIC – “TILL THE WORLD FALLS”

The music icons team up with Duckie Thot and Jazzelle Zanaughtti in their brand new lyric vid.

Nile Rodgers & CHIC need no introduction. After four decades in the music industry, the funk pioneers have become undisputed legends, topping the charts over and over again with their boundary-pushing pop music and making it physically impossible to say “Freak out!” without at least one person replying “Le Freak! C’est Chic!”

Now gearing up to release their first new album in 25 years on the 28th September, the group are giving us a little taster of the wonders to come with their first single “Till The World Falls”. Combining their signature funk and dance sounds with a refreshingly modern edge, the track was produced by Rodgers and Mura Masa and co-wrote by Anderson .Paak, anaïs, Vic Mensa and Nao. Translation: it’s bloody brilliant and you’re gonna be playing it on repeat all day.

Releasing the accompanying video today, the visuals see models-of-the-moment Duckie Thot and Jazzelle Zanaughtti recreating the iconic image from the band’s 1977 self-titled debut album. “With the new album called It’s About Time I had the idea to 40 years later remake the original CHIC album cover.” Rodgers tells us. “The idea behind CHIC was always about inclusion. Black and white, straight or gay, supportive of every race and gender. We put together an incredible team with Jazzelle Zanaughtti and Duckie Thot as the new cover stars and they were shot by Britt Lloyd and Art Directed by Greg Foley. The feedback we’ve had has been sensational and this lyric video gives you some insight into how much fun Jazzelle, Duckie and I had on the day!”
