It’s a scorching Saturday. You’re near a shimmering body of water, with good tunes and a rum cocktail in hand. And you haven’t even had to board a plane for the lush set-up. No, you’re not dreaming.

Taking full advantage of the heatwave, Malibu are throwing a huge pool party this Saturday. In a secret location, the party will be feature some of the UK’s most exciting DJ talents, including a big-name special guest, garage pioneers Sticky & Scott Garcia, Rinse FM DJ Emerald Rose Lewis, as well as emerging acts Fabienne Hebrard and Ashley Mi Ki Mak.

As part of the iconic Caribbean rum brand’s initiative #MalibuGames, guests will be inspired to create unforgettable memories and unleash their full summer potential. We’re talking banging tunes, a fresh dip in the pool (yes. please), the odd cheeky rum bev (obligatory), as well as activities such as limbo, surfing simulation and a coconut shy. I mean, how low can you go?

We chatted to mega-babe Emerald Rose Lewis ahead of the party…

What drew you to Malibu’s initiative #malibugames? 
There’s nothing like a pool party in a heatwave, so sign me up! Also it’s an honour to play alongside the special guest.

Dead or alive, who would you invite to your dream pool party?
Jack and Dani from Love Island. I think they would have a lovely time. 

What are you doing with your summer?
It’s the busiest time of year for me in terms of gigs, so I’ll be DJing a lot. I’m DJing for M.I.A. this summer too, as well as backing vocals and hype-girl duties. We’ve got some amazing gigs left to play.

What’s on your ultimate summer playlist?
A lot of dancehall, UK funk, garage and Afro beats.

Songs you can’t get enough of right now?
Mura Masa ft. Octavian – “Move Me” is on repeat right now. Also Wizkid – “Ojuelegba”, and Romare – “All Night”.

Describe your summer style…
Colourful.

What do you pack to go on holiday?
So much stuff! I always overpack – it’s the worst. Always two books and then I never read more than one page. I’m forever transporting books around the world just for the sake of it. And always speakers.

What’s your desert island beauty product?
Texturizer by Sebastian. It’s the best thing for curls – can’t control them without it.

Dream destination?
The Galápagos Islands.
