ANDY WARHOL’S UNSEEN IMAGES

Nearly 130,000 portraits of his famous friends will be made public.

Whether he was hosting Mick Jagger at his estate or rubbing shoulders with Michael Jackson at Studio 54, there’s no doubt that pop art pioneer and legendary party-thrower Andy Warhol had a lot of famous pals.

And now the Andy Warhol Foundation has released thousands of never-before-seen images – featuring the likes of celebrity friends Debbie Harry, Liza Minelli, Dolly Parton, art sensation Jean Michel Basquiat, and political stars including Nancy Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, to name a few – which will be on display at Stanford’s Cantor Arts Centre.

“Contact Warhol: Photography Without End” will make public a treasure trove of 130,000 photographic exposures, as well as black-and-white contact sheets and fully developed silk screen paintings.

Contact Warhol: Photography Without End will be on display at the Cantor Arts Centre from September 26 to January 6 2019
